Character, Courage, Competence 

With Character, the full worth of an individual can be created. Without it – especially in the military calling – disappointment in peace, catastrophe in war, or, best case scenario, average quality in both will come about. 

you can't turn into all you are intended to be without character. It is definitive and basic. 

You will never do anything in this world without Courage. It is the best nature of the psyche beside honor."Dream as though you'll live always, live as though you'll kick the bucket today." 

"Brigadier, I'm advancing you from  Solider to S.Major. I need you to assume liability for all Company weapons. 

S.Major? Why me? 

I don't have a clue. Call it "suspicion of Competence capability" on my part.
